Our Lady of Perpetual Help To the Bereaved family December 10, 2012

We, the members of the Catholic Women's Association's Our Lady of Perpetual Help (CWA-OLPH) branch of Bowie – Maryland, extend our heartfelt condolences to the entire Elad family.

Through Mary to Jesus:  At the time of her death, Mami Elad, as we fondly called her, was the First Adviser of our branch, a position of honor given to only woman of exemplary character, of very deep faith and devotion to the Blessed Virgin Mary, Mother of our Lord Jesus Christ.  Mami Elad was an inspiration to every CWA member who interacted with her and she encouraged both new and young CWA members by accepting to sew their uniforms - Mama reasoned that if you had your uniform, you would develope a sence of belonging and will be committed.  She spent sleepless nights sewing kabas and white blouses for our members.  Her devotion to Mama Maria was remarkable.  It is worth noting that Mami Elad was one of the founding pillars of the Catholic Women’s Association here in Maryland, USA.  Her love for the Blessed Mother of God was also evident by the fact that she brought up her daughters to also love and honor Mama Maria.  Mami Elad’s sister, her two daughters and her niece are all members of the CWA-OLPH branch.  You can imagine our loss and the state of affairs which Mami’s transition has left us all in OLPH – Mami was not only our mother, she was also our sister, our auntie and our counsel - a God-fearing woman and above all, a committed and devoted CWA member.  Our loss is so great that the void Mami Elad has left in our branch and in our lives will be difficult to fill.

When Mami Elad took ill and was frequently absent from meetings, we prayed that she should recover and join us…  we felt like orphans when we held meetings in her absence.  Then one fine Sunday Mami Elad came to the meeting…  We were glad to have her with us again and prayed for Mama to fully recover and take her rightful place amongst us.  We were confident she would win this battle but little did we know that her visit was to say farewell and to tell us that her Lord and Maker had a different plan for her – that healing had come at last and where she was going there would be no sorrow nor pain, only angels singing praises to God.

The Lord has given and the Lord has taken, Glory be to God.  His ways are not our ways and therefore we bow down to his almighty will and accept that Mama has gone to rest in her heavenly home where Mama Maria will be waiting at the gate open arms.

Eternal rest grant unto Mama O Lord and let perpetual light shine upon her.  May she rest in perfect peace AMEN.

Amanda Torries To all of her love ones December 7, 2012
Hello,

I am Ghislains friend and when I met you I was welcomed with such a warm heart and open arms. I remember the first time I met you and I told Ghislain, "I love your Grandmother, her spirit feels so gentle and sweet," you made me feel comfortable and welcomed. I'm glad to be welcomed into such a blessed family that you created. God Bless all your love ones that grieve from your loss but may they all remember your laugh, smile, memories, presence and more. I pray that when they think of you it warms their hearts with joy and especially knowing that you are their guardian angel. May your sweet soul rest in heavenly peace. Although you are physically apart from your family and love ones, you are also apart from pain. Please be with all in spirit and may God bless & rest your sweet soul!

                              Love,
                                        -Amanda T-
